Link Budgets
A link budget is a calculation which takes into account all of the losses and gains from transmitter to receiver in a communications system.
A link budget is commonly provided by manufacturers of RF transceivers, in the sense that they give you the difference between the maximum transmit power and maximum receiver sensitivity.
